A Billboard Manufacture Warehouse Burnt in South Jakarta

Fire gutted a billboards manufacture warehouse on Jalan Mohammad Kahfi 1 Gang Kranji RT 06/06, Ciganjur, South Jakarta. The fire lead people panicked because there were chemicals that burnt and caused an explosion.

The fire occurred when the warehouse was empty due to homecoming

"I see the fire from the outside of warehouse when I finished my pray. The fire suddenly enlarged and I ran to tell people around to save themselves," said Marulloh (60), a resident, Saturday (7/18).

Based on beritajakarta.com observation, the panic ensued when the fire enlarged because the warehouse with an area of 350 square meters is located in the middle of densely populated settlements.

"The fire occurred when the warehouse was empty due to homecoming," he explained.

Marulloh expected the fire caused by the burning litter because the warehouse owner had been warned to unplug all electrical circuit.

"Before homecoming season, we warned the owner to unplug all switch," he explained.

As many as 15 fire trucks from South Jakarta Fire Managing and Rescuing Management were deployed to the location and succesfully extinguish fire in an hour. However, until 2 pm some of materials and chemical substances still burnt

There is no casualties in this event while the fire cause is still in investigation.
